TA DA DA DUM!

So, Morticia’s rocking hard these days. Wondering about the name? That’s my guitar, named after the hot and  creepy cave women from “The Addams Family“. The name hit me at 3:00 in the morning and I really don’t have a reasonable explanation as to why.
The first week I disgusted her for not being nice to my fingers . Everytime I touched the strings, she cursed and turned them blue. So cruel. Also she wasn’t so much in a mood to make any tunes. She plainly refused to play C major and a tree frog’s croak would have sounded better than B minor. But after a few more days of sore fingers , we finally developed a little understanding.
The second week was simple songs. Started of with “Jingle Bells” .Now, how did I end up turning Jingle bells into “Tera Suroor”, still remains a mystery. Then was “The Scientist” by Coldplay that I ruined beyond repair. Also “Happy Birthday” which came out to be okay. But finally, I totally nailed "Smelly cat" by Phoebe Buffay. For those who haven't heard it yet.

Lyrics to Smelly Cat :

Smelly cat, SMELLY cat
What are they feeding you?
Smelly cat, SMELLY cat
Its not your fault!

They wont take you to the vet
you're obviously not their favorite pet
you may not be a bed of roses
and you're no friend of those with noses.

Smelly cat, SMELLY cat
What are they feeding you?
Smelly cat, SMELLY cat
Its not your fault!

That is my progress so far, the jam session continues….

Feeling Hot Hot Hot!!

I don't know how to even start describing my trip to Delhi for the NIFT counselling. Mindblowingly hectic, yes it was. Metro Madness, yes there was. A trip to remember, we will know that later. Not to mention, I got acute dehydration and it took me like five days to recover, ending today. Those of you who have not heard the term would be interested to know its serious and it can kill you if not cured in time :/

I read articles on acute dehydration and found the symptoms a little confusing. The real symptoms of acute dehydration according to my experience are:

  •  You would want to kill yourself when you walk in the sun, so keep away from sharp objects.
  •  No amount of water will quench your thirst.
  •  You wont be able to pronounce words like "czechoslovakia" and "catastrophe" because of your insanely dry tongue.
  •  Mirage!! yes that will happen a lot. I hallucinated about "Water Kingdom" every few kilometers.
  •  Do not be shocked if you start looking red like a tomato, it gets worse later.You'll start having chills out of nowhwere, chills in the hot hellhole.
  • Your body becomes a fullgrown funny bone, tingling of the limbs starts.
  • You won't recognize your friends and family after a point of time and your answer to everything would be "huh??".
  • You'll puke your guts out.
  • head rush and Collapse!!

So, always keep yourself hydrated enough if you are to travel in such adverse conditions and please rush to the nearest hospital if you make it till symptom no. 6, even if you don't you'll anyways end up there. Take it from me, Needles become your best friend and they make you eat boiled rice and drink salt water for five days, that is even worse than being jailed. Take care, don't die !!:)

The Bollywood Ishtyle!

The monsoon has hit the city, everyone is either completely drenched or has a bad cold. My friends in Lonawala(a hill station in Maharashtra) can't see each other because of the heavy fog and are afraid that they would vanish. Fortunately, I have hidden my umbrella and raincoat in a safe place(why?just refer to my third post).

I thought of just staying indoors today as I could not step out, thanks to the non stop rain. But its nice to sip a  hot cup of coffee in the cold weather and watch it rain ,sitting beside the window and listen to Bollywood songs. Baarish and Bollywood go a long way back. The best rain number from the yesteryears "pyaar hua ikraar hua" is one that i totally enjoy.

That reminds me, I am teaching a friend Hindi these days. I suggested him to listen to songs from Bollywood movies and then  translated the lines to him. I made him  listen to "Bhaag Bhaag" from "Delhi Belly" recently, which has mind blowing lyrics.  He did learn some interesting stuff like,
chuha = mouse
bhaag bhaag = run run
naag = cobra
bheja= brains
piddi= small
pigeon = kabootar(reminded him of "computer")
followed by a series of Pjs like,
"personal kabootar"
"want to watch a movie on your kabootar?"
"oh no! my kabootar just crashed!"
Also some dishes that were learned like,
parantha = (parenthesis)
vada pav = sierra nevada pav, darth vadapav

The lessons finished with a few offensive Hindi words learned from the song, which he would use on his friends one day(wink) and they would never know the meaning. Next time I plan to bring famous Bollywood dialogues to the lessons like,
"kitne aadmi the?"
"mere paas maa hai!"
"khamosh!!"
Lets see how that works out.
In exchange for this I have been learning French and Hebrew from him. Hebrew is Hebrew to me but I like French, bonjour!! Also some new English from a song that almost made it to "The Simpsons"(wink again).
I realize it has stopped raining, had a wonderful afternoon. Au revoir people!!

Dedicated to the thief in my hostel.

why did u steal my stuff?
And then you lie and you bluff..
why don't u go away..away..away..!!

This thief has taken its toll on me..
She slipped my stuff so many times before..
My things are vanishing in front of me..
But i have no choice,I just couldn't find my stuff anymore.

Oh..Oh..Oh!!

And thanks to my friend, who took it to the next level.

Glimpses from an old diary..

I was going through a box of my old stuff  the other day and I found this old diary come scrapbook that was created a long time back. I went through its pages and found how beautifully it captivated my childhood in its crumbled pages.The cover, tells how badly I wanted to keep it out of my brother's reach, threatening him with those bold words"WATCH OUT, GIRL POWER". Obviously, he was evil like all younger brothers.

This is a special one, thanks to my best friend. We had a fight, and she gave me the cute little card, with tom and jerry. She also made a little note that said," we might be different, but we make a great pair".

Ahhh, yeah this is a little geeky because I was a BIG fan of Albert Einstein back then. I really wish I had that picture in which he sticks his tongue out.:P
Reminds me of his very famous quote,
"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."

I couldn't really figure out this one. I sure was a complicated child.
Maybe something to do with "controlling anger".

                                      This is where i kept record of all my shooting star moments.

This was a cutout from some bridal magazine, I liked the golden swirling flowers on her.

Making motifs was something I absolutely enjoyed. The most beautiful ones were made on the last page of my notebooks during those boring classes.

Now this is what every girl has in her scrapbook, Britney, JayLo and Angelina. Wink. I wonder what is the "Apso" doing here?

The border is a funny caricature of Vishwamitra, the great saint and Menaka, the seductive apsara. Also a funny indian version of the Cupid.

Being a huge cricket enthusiast, I had to have this. That was a match to remember. India wins the T-20 worldcup!! YAY!!!

All Potter fans have this disease, and I sure was one of the biggest sufferers. This was during the release of the "The order of the phoenix". Even after reading the books more than 10 times and watching the movie over and over again, I found every little  information worth killing for, so everything pretty much made it to these pages.

This is my giant family tree.It has got everyone. I made it fun with little caricatures of everybody, not so good looking though. I also left a little place at the bottom to keep the tree updated. lol

Who doesn't love a romcom?
I know its obvious but i have to say it out loud, its my favorite. I can watch it  fifty times and cry and laugh harder(not together, because that would be crazy) everytime. Jaane tu.. Jaane tu.. ya Jaane naa!!

This was when i was about to leave for college. I was thinking about all the things I was going to miss, Ghar ka khana,  depending on my parents for everything, fighting with my brother and so much more. Those were the best days, no doubt about that.

Through my eyes..

So my previous blogger account was hacked by somebody, I didn't know people enjoyed hacking blogs. Something new.

I gave the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test the other day and now I can't stop thinking..
What will be the cutoff?
Will i make it through the merit list?
What if I don't get a valid score?
What if all my answers were wrong?...

So, in order to distract myself from the tiring process of thinking about "results", I decided to go through the works of Vincent Van Gogh(my favorite artist). I ended up looking at two oil paintings for a more than 20 minutes.Sound weird?I'll explain.

Girl in the Woods.
"Girl in the woods" caught my attention because it actually was a lot like my situation at present. I am not saying I am blogging from some a jungle right now(that would be fun by the way), but the loneliness and peace it depicts was very much what i wanted. It feels like she is in search of a path to inner peace or maybe just wanting to rest for a while in silence of the woods. Away from the world. The earthy tones conveyed how she wanted to stay connected to nature and just observe it quietly.

Starry Nights Over the Rhone
Next was the beautiful starry night. I felt like taking the rusty boat into the waters and watch the lights from the town and the sky merge together in the river. Blue( my color) is dominant and reflects the cool and tranquil mood of the picture.

I love Van Gogh's work and I am literally shocked by how some people find his paintings very kiddish because his color palette was limited and his strokes were bold, little do they know that simplicity is an unknown art that comes from within.You cannot teach it.

Absorbing the beauty through my eyes,I  finally calmed down. All the thoughts that were juggling in my head before rested in peace.
